Questions we've been asked
Q. What is a virtual garage door company?
A. Virtual garage door companies may take referral calls from out-of-state telephone call centers, or rent high-ranked websites (leads are gathered from high-ranked websites the unsuspecting customer has visited). Unlike some virtual garage door businesses, we don't participated in renting a high-ranked website to the highest bidder, or take calls from a call center. When making your call, ask questions. As for us, we intend to keep everything local and personal (sometimes the person taking your call could do the service). We stand by our excellent service and we've been doing it for nearly 30 years right here in Western Washington.
Q. What do I do about broken garage door springs?
A. Garage door torsion springs are tightly wound spring coils mounted above the garage door. They counter-balance the weight of the door when opened and closed. After more-or-less 10,000 cycles, they can break. Do not attempt to remove broken springs. If they are in pairs, the second spring could still be wound tightly. If handled improperly, springs can torque out and possibly seriously injure the installer. Leave the job to a professional and be safe.
Q. Can I paint my garage door?
A. You can paint a wood or steel steel garage door. Garage doors usually have a factory baked-on paint which is long lasting. If you want to paint, use a latex paint, as oil base paints are more subject to bubbling and peeling.
Q. What about door security?
A. Security ranges from physical door security to opener security. If you need to upgrade your security requirements, there are many opener accessories to choose from including wireless keypads and remote controls. Call us for a free consultation.
